Orchestral Study #2 (driving and chaotic), updated audio and original audio
Getting more comfortable. Limitations: multiple voices on the same staff cannot have unique articulations or dynamics so you have to break them across staffs. I did this with the double basses at the beginning but not with the strings at the end since there were six voices across violins, violas, and cellos. Irritating. This thread from almost exactly a year ago says that they are working on it. Another thread references loud clarinet–I had to set it to ppp in some places just to have it not overpower everything else. The suggested steps did not fix it. Finally, not to gripe too much, the audio sounds better than the canned MIDI sounds… but not strikingly so. For these first two studies I added dynamics and reverb, but to an only moderate improvement. An absence of intra-note dynamics may be part of the issue.
