More lies
Sheesh, this week needs a round-up of all of those things people repeat as true that are, simply, not. Thanks to Reddit and Digg for reminding me that for every 10 idiots, there's at least one smart person ready to take them down:
- The Bush administration's dismissal of 8 U.S. attorneys was politically motivated and has no precedence in prior administrations' actions.
- Science is routinely under attack by the Bush administration, as is well documented by its interference with NASA reports on global warming and the Big Bang.
- There never were fears of global cooling.
- Al Gore never said he invented the internet.
- Just as Edwards has been attacked as an evil trial lawyer and shouldn't, Gore is being attacked as hypocritical and isn't.
- The McDonald's coffee lawsuit was in no way frivolous.
- Oh, and Sparta sucked according to the always entertaining and informative War Nerd. But, as one Reddit comment said:
Sure, it's a thinly-veiled propaganda movie for the NeoCons, but it was still pretty good.
